We have been called to bring the presence, hope, and compassion of Jesus into the places where people often experience life at its hardest. As first responders ourselves, we understand the weight carried by those who serve our communities every day. We walk alongside first responders, their families, and our community during moments of crisis, loss, trauma, and exhaustion offering spiritual care, prayer, and a steady presence.
Our mission is simple: to go where people are hurting, build trusted relationships, and reflect the love and compassion of Christ in real and practical ways.
The mission field is not limited to emergency scenes, as much of our time is spent in the quieter moments inside fire and EMS stations, police departments, and dispatch centers. By spending time in these environments, we build trusted relationships with the men and women who serve their communities every day. Conversations over coffee at the station table, check-ins after difficult calls, and moments of prayer or encouragement become meaningful opportunities to care for the emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being of first responders.
Serving as chaplains means stepping into the everyday rhythms of the first responder world as well as the most difficult moments community members will ever experience. As Chaplains we respond to emergency scenes to offer a calm, compassionate presence during times of crisis, tragedy, and loss.
